Look at the beautiful peeling of the salmon in the air, absolutely perfect. So, yes, they do work on producing the best-tasting food.

Raw salmon on parchment.

For your air-fried salmon, you’ll want to use fillets of the same thickness. These are all 1-1/2 inch rounded corners. They left the refrigerator for about an hour to warm up.

Thinly slice the lemon with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

Since my children fish for salmon every summer, all of our salmon is wild and still has bones. I found that the bones were easy to remove with needle-nose pliers because they did not tear the fish.

Air Fryers Are Worth Buying

The air fryer is really a bit ugly and reminds me of Darth Vader’s head/mask, but omg this is the best appliance ever made. Yes, they are! There are a lot of air fryers out there, but I especially like mine. In fact, there are some of the best-rated large-capacity empty fryers available, and mine is always one of them. If you can get this air fryer for less than $150, you’ll get a lot. In fact, you can read the five-star review on this Air fryer here.

In an air fryer, everything gets crisper and juicier, and always cooks perfectly in an incredibly short time. Tartar in the fryer is the best. Chicken in the air fryer, bread or not is so juicy, tender, and delicious. When it comes to cooking dinner, even the Ribeye steak in the sky fryer is so good, that I can’t believe I even wanted to try it. Anyway, you get it, it’s worth every penny.

No warm-up time, and a very short cleaning time. The air skillet locks up all the juice, so you have almost no clutter to clean up. It even makes the perfect crostini toast. I don’t recommend an air skillet smaller than 5.3 quarts, it’s too limited.

How To Cook Salmon In Air Fryer?

Cut the salmon fillets into even pieces and preheat your air fryer.

You can also buy pre-cut fillets. You can remove the skin if you want, but there is no need to do so.

Fresh salmon fillet before seasoning

Season each fillet with garlic, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper, and sprinkle a little olive oil on top. Red chillies really give the salmon a beautiful brown color when it cooks, so I like to add it to the salmon. Be sure to rub in the spices to get the best flavor, then place the salmon in an air fryer.

Cook the seasoned salmon fillets

Depending on the thickness of the salmon and the air skillet you’re using, the time may vary. But on average, expect the air-pan salmon to cook in 7-9 minutes — and that’s it! You’ll know it’s ready when it comes off easily. Then you’re ready to serve.

I have to admit, I’m totally, totally against the idea of buying an air fryer. Not just a little against it, but really, really against it. I think the air fryer will be another small appliance I rarely use. Who else has so many?

Not only did I think I wouldn’t use it, I especially didn’t want another “thing” on my kitchen counter. The extra stuff on my kitchen counter really annoys me. I really despise anything thrown at them, whether it’s mail, car keys, computers… Take them to your room and put them there! But that’s a rant for another day.

Anyway, I really don’t want this new device. I think it’s a waste of money. However, I eventually unplugged it and ordered it, even though I couldn’t feel it. I’m glad I did because the air-fried salmon was the best idea ever!

What Goes With The Fried Salmon?

Salad: A fresh salad is an excellent accompaniment to this perfect air-pan salmon. Try it on a corn-tomato guacamole salad or a cauliflower Tabbouleh salad for a balanced dinner.

Grains: Rice, couscous, barley, and faro are excellent accompaniments to salmon. Serve with Lebanese rice, Mediterranean couscous salad or turmeric rice salad.

Vegetables: The added bonus of this option is that you can make any vegetable that goes with salmon in an aerial skillet. Delicious with cilantro, lime, cauliflower, green beans and almonds. I chose simple mung beans and they were ready in 2-4 minutes!

Helpful Tips On Cook Salmon In Air Fryer

Make sure the fillets are about the same thickness. This will ensure they cook evenly at the same time. Depending on the size of the empty fryer, you may need to cook in batches. You can cook the thicker ones together if you need to.

Use a fork to check for fried noodles. When it comes to air skillets, the time it takes to cook salmon will depend on the thickness of the salmon fillets and the model of air skillet you use. The best way to check is to use a fork to see if it comes off easily.

Preheat your air fryer before adding the seasoned salmon. I recommend doing this so that the salmon cooks evenly. This speeds up the cooking time and makes the salmon crispy.

Don’t crowd your basket too much. If you do this, the salmon may become less crisp because the moisture produced by the salmon fillets touching each other quickly affects the hot air circulation around the salmon. If necessary, fry the salmon in two batches.

When Cook Salmon In Air Fryer Is Done?

The best way to judge whether salmon is cooked is to check its internal temperature with a meat thermometer. The temperature of salmon is 145 degrees Fahrenheit. If you don’t have a meat thermometer, don’t worry! You can also judge by its color. Raw salmon is translucent and reddish. When cooked, it turns opaque pink. At the end of cooking, it should be completely pink.

How About Using Frozen Salmon?

Yes! You can put frozen (seasoned) salmon slices into a preheated air fryer and cook them in the same way as fresh salmon. Just cook for a few more minutes to make sure the fish is cooked thoroughly. (Check for Can You Put Wax Paper In An Air Fryer?)

Conclusion

Cook salmon in the air fryer breaks your heart. You won’t be able to eat salmon in a restaurant ever again because it is so unbelievably soft and flaky within with a flush of crispness on top.
